Descriptions of Nitinol Dental Bracenitinol-dental-brace

Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) are one of the most promising smart materials available today, and they can provide the novel solution in several fields and for various applications (e.g. actuator, biomedical application, clamping systems, etc.). Shape Memory Alloys demonstrate a unique ability to recover their initial shape after deformation through a reversible thermo-elastic phase transformation.

Among the commercially available SMA, nickel-titanium (Ni-Ti and Ni–Ti-based) alloys are outstanding due to their excellent performance, reliability, and strain recovery properties. Ni-Ti alloy is attractive for various medical applications due to its biocompatibility, corrosion resistance, and fatigue behavior.

Advanced Refractory Metals (ARM) is a leading supplier of Nitinol Alloy products. All custom sizes and finished parts can be produced quickly to the highest industry standards.

Advantages of Nitinol Dental Brace

-Traditional stainless steel wires have a tendency to lose tension over time. When the wire becomes slack, an orthodontist must readjust the wire. By using nitinol for the arch wire, an orthodontist can mold the wire to the current shape of your teeth. Once the wire is placed in your mouth, it will begin to heat up. As it heats up, the wire will try to reform into its original straight shape.
-As the memory wires tries to straighten out, it will exert gradual pressure on your teeth. Pressure over time is how teeth are moved in orthodontistry.
-Nitinol wires’ main advantage in orthodontistry is reducing the number of adjustments needed over the lifetime of the braces.

Applications of Nitinol Dental Brace

-Nitinol is highly biocompatible and has properties suitable for use in orthopaedic implants. Due to Nitinol’s unique properties it has seen a large demand for use in less invasive medical devices. Nitinol tubing is commonly used in catheters, stents, and superelastic needles.
-Nickel titanium can be used to make the underwires for underwire bras.
-Nitinol is also used in cell-phone technology as a retractable antenna, or microphone boom, due to its highly flexible and mechanical memory nature.

Packaging of Nitinol Dental Brace

Our Nitinol Dental Braces are clearly tagged and labeled externally to ensure efficient identification and quality control. Great care is taken to avoid any damage which might be caused during storage or transportation.

Exactly as advertised. Great for the prices especially. Much stronger than expected.
