Iridium is a platinum group metal with atomic number 77. As might be expected from its position in the periodic table, iridium is stable to air and water and is not attacked by any acids, including aqua regia. Iridium is an ideal material for the tip of spark plugs and has been used to make a crucible for artificial crystals manufacturing.

I purchased these discs to use as the plug base and sprue plate for a 12 gauge slug mold. For that purpose, these discs are perfect! What’s more, these discs are very well made and I could foresee these discs having a whole slew of uses. Excellent product and price.
